What We Offer

Becker Helicopters Pilot Academy is fully approved to provide abinitio, and advanced training to a universal military standard. We have a proven track record as a preferred Southern Hemisphere provider of military helicopter pilot training. We are the only company in the Southern Hemisphere delivering a military syllabus through an innovative, efficient, privately owned, civil approved organization.  We currently train anywhere between 40-70 military students per year for a range of international clients and we are able to expand to meet any client’s requirements based on a solid contract.  On average, we complete around 10,000 flight training hours per year, with 2,000 of these NVG-specific.

With 19 years experience, 30 instructors, around 17 training helicopters in fleet, and an exemplary safety record, we can fully customise an accredited Initial Entry Rotary Wing military pilot training option for you.  Our training courses can cover:

  • Aviation English;
  • Ground school theory;
  • Basic abinitio training;
  • Navigation training;
  • Full instrument training;
  • Night unaided flight training;
  • Night vision goggle training;
  • Basic lead-in tactical training such as formation and terrain flight operations;
  • Instructor training.

Our courses can be done in a combination of single or multi engine helicopters and procedural trainers (simulators).

Additionally, we can provide custom courses in multi engine conversions, SAR/EMS, external loads including hook and hoist operations, aircrewman training, HUET and survival courses.  We are also able to provide a vetting process to assist our clients in selecting appropriate pilot or aircrewman candidates.

Why outsource your military training to us?

  • We offer cost- and time-efficiencies

    We offer cost- and time-efficiencies

    We offer the military organisation the option of fiscally responsible training programs for groups of students.  Outsourcing to us means that the military organisation does not tie up its own personnel or platforms, and therefore the training process does not detract from its military responsibilities.  We get the bulk of the training done so the military organisation can stay focused on operational need.

    Initial Entry Pilot Training programs are one of the most obvious and historically expensive aspects of a defence budget.  We can provide flexibility of platform all maintained in our own purpose-built maintenance facility, experienced ex-military instructors, a range of training areas in close proximity to base, great weather, and uncongested airspace.  We get on with the job of applying the best use of technology and instructional design techniques to deliver high-quality and solutions-based training, on time and on budget.  This allows the defence agency client to focus its resources on its core business of defence.

    Our helicopters are standardised to ensure consistency of training platform.  Our B206BIII fleet has standardised glass cockpit technology.  Our instructional staff also complete extensive standardization training to ensure a consistency in the level of training delivered.

    Critically, we are able to complete training within a tighter time line and within a smaller budget, free from bureaucratic restraints and in ideal training areas that are uncongested and untainted by urban demands.

It is a matter of structuring a syllabus, in close consultation with the client, that best suits their operational needs and then fostering their standards, ethos, and student welfare requirements into the course.  We aim to understand your needs and exceed your expectations.
