This Skill Set is part of the AVI Aviation Training Package and targets those pilots who work night aided vision devices.

Note:  Becker Helicopters strongly recommends trainees hold a Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating), CASA issued Command Instrument Rating or an equivalent prior to undertaking Night Vision Imaging Systems training.

Duration:
5 weeks: this comprises 5 teaching weeks and 0 weeks of holidays.

Note: Since this flight training is conducted at night in VFR conditions, there may be weather delays to the training program.

  • Entry Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Prior to commencing this course, you need to have:

    • Appropriate helicopter pilot qualifications and experience; and
    • Pass a Class Two Medical; and
    • Demonstrated General English Language Proficiency by having:
      – successfully completed a CASA General English Language Proficiency (GELP) Assessment, or
      – attained an Aviation English Language Proficiency (AELP) level of ICAO 3 or higher, issued by a CASA approved Language test centre (for ICAO assessment).

    Standard Course:

    • 5 flight hours in an aircraft, and
    • 5 flight hours in a simulator.

    Normally completed in a B206BIII helicopter, which is a 5 seater turbine aircraft. Some syllabus elements may be undertaken in a B206BIII procedural trainer (simulator).
