We welcome Ministry of the National Guard officers

Officers from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of the National Guard began their Initial Entry Rotary Wing training program this week.  They began with an orientation of the Becker Helicopters Pilot Academy facilities and helicopters.  This marks the commencement of our contract to train Ministry of the National Guard officers.  The entire team at Becker Helicopters warmly welcome them and look forward to a very exciting training program.

Capt. Fergus Ponder and Fire-Bird 469 are currently based in Grafton. We have been assisting the NSW Rural Fire Service Northern Region during a recent wave of bush fires.
Photographs were taken during an area reconnaissance flight to map several new starts to the North-West of Casino, NSW.

HAI BALLOT – BOARD OF DIRECTORS RUNOFF ELECTION

During the election at the Annual Membership Meeting and Breakfast on March 3, 2015, in Orlando, there were six candidates running for two HAI Board of Directors – Commercial seats. For the second time in HAI history, there was a tie between two of the candidates; Jan Becker and Tim Pickering.

To resolve the tie, HAI is holding a runoff election which is due to close on 13 April.

New Addition to Our Fleet – MD500E

Becker Helicopters is excited to announce we have purchased a MD500E Helicopter as a new addition to our fleet.

It is coming from the Columbus Police Department in Ohio, who are upgrading their fleet for the MD530 model.

Our Director of Maintenance, Michael Yip, has been over a MD taking a factory maintenance course, and overseeing its preparation for shipping.  We hope to see it at Becker Helicopters in around July 2015.

Santa drops by in his new Chopper

The 2014 North Shore Community Centre, Sunshine Coast, Australia Christmas Celebration which we sponsored was on Saturday and with over two thousand people stopping by to join in all the community Christmas cheer, close to $6,000 dollars was raised for IFYS (Integrated Family Youth Services).
