Tough Mudder – 17th & 18th August 2013
Becker Helicopters donated two Jet Ranger helicopters, fuel, pilots, and ground crew over the two days of the 2013 Tough Mudder event with all proceeds from the joy flights gifted to two worthy organisations: Cherish Women’s Cancer Foundation (90% of proceeds) and Legacy (10% of proceeds).
Becker Helicopters is a strong supporter of the Cherish Foundation. Mike and Jan Becker’s youngest daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at just 14 years of age. Thanks to the help of dedicated surgeons and oncological staff, she is now a cancer survivor. The Cherish Foundation, founded by Professor Andreas Obermair, generates vital funds for the research and trial of treatments for gynaecological cancers. www.cherishfoundation.com.au
Legacy, a charity dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans, is the recognised beneficiary of the Tough Mudder event. As a provider of helicopter training services, Becker Helicopters fully supports the men and women in the armed forces and employs several ex-military staff at its pilot training facilities.
“We see events such as this as an opportunity for us to all work together and give something back to the community” says Jan Becker.
