Becker Helicopters is proud to support RE:NEW and the Australian Himalayan Foundation.
The Australian Himalayan Foundation is working with RENEW, a local charity in Bhutan, to help girls living in remote villages to attend school, often several days’ walk away. The cost of their board and lodging at the school, although equivalent to just AUD $200 per child a year, is beyond the means of many families. As a result, girls, especially, miss out on a basic education. This year, the Foundation will be holding a Men’s Lunch as part of it’s annual fund raising, supporting Girls’ Schools in Bhutan.
The charity auction features at least one very special item – a flight over the Sunshine Coast with Mike Becker, from Becker Helicopters.

Over the past few years, Heather and Krista from the Foundation have visited isolated schools in Bhutan where facilities are extremely basic. These include the school in Lingshi where classes have been conducted in tents for several years and a small school in Lunana, housed in an old monastery, where, at the time of their visit, the children had no furniture or stationery. Heather and Krista have also met regularly with girls supported by the scholarpship program and officials from RENEW, including the founder, Her Majesty Ashi Sangay Choden Wangchuck.
Please help us to raise $20,000 for the Bhutan girls’ education project. You can make a donation via this link: https://makingadifference.gofundraise.com.au/page/BhutanGirls2017 Thank you so much!
